The original church and parish records of Witting have become a part of Zion Lutheran in Moulton. These records were microfilmed in January 1987 by the Archives of the ALC at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa. See the Centennial History back page for information about the location of Parish Records from 1881 to present. Pastor Westerhoff conducted services and baptisms in preaching points and communities from 1882. Baptized in the following settlements: Flatonia, Breslau, Charlottenburg, Antioch, Cistern, Hallettsville, Sweet Home (Lavaca County), Black Jack Springs, Shiner, Moulton, and Witting (Wittingsland as he called it) Witting was part of the Moulton parish with Zion from October 1927 until December 2001. In 2002 to present (2017) it is part of the Tri-County Cooperative Ministries (TCCM) which includes Weimer, Sublime, Moulton,, and Pairie Valley. |
