Copies and transcribed parish records of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church at Ross Prarie, later (ca 1898) of Ellinger, can be found through the Nesbitt Memorial Library in Columbus, Texas or online at www.fayettecountyhistory.org/St_john_lutheran_index.htm In 2017, St. John Lutheran Church at Ellinger is part of a Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County along with St. Paul Lutheran Church of Fayetteville, St. John Lutheran Church of Rutersville, and St. John Lutheran Church of Warrenton - in Texas. Other communities who joined with the Ellinger congregation over the years include St. John's of Shaw's Bend in 1958 and the congregation at Biegel Settlement (a fire in 1923 distroyed their parish records). St. John's has also shared pastors with nearby congregations such as La Grange, and Prairie Valley. Pastors noted in this record may have served one or several of these congregations.
