Pastor Ervendberg is said to have held a Holy Communion service on December 25, 1844 on the soil that later became Indiaola. German Lutheran met in Indian Point (Old Town) as early as 1846-48 which moved a few miles South to establish Indianola (also referred to as Karlshaven, then Powder Horn) around 1853. Indianola Lutheran Church was organized in 1854 and probably existed until the Hurricane of 1875. |
