Originally known as the Hyde Park Lutheran Church, it was officially dedicated as Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Houston on November 1, 1921 by the United Lutheran Church in America. In January, 2016, Grace Lutheran Church restarted as Kindred, or Kindred Montrose. Kindred is a ministry of the ELCA welcoming all, regardless of gender, race, disability, sexual orientation or gender identity and expression.
