Scope & Content |
This box contains the "Record of Minutes of The Beitel Endowment Committee of Grace English Ev. Luth. Congregation, San Antonio, Texas. Herman H. Ochs, Secretary, February 1911." It contains the original hand-written minutes of the various committees and boards which formed and operated Grace Lutheran Sanatorium and other pertinent documents until the Sanatorium was turned over to the Ohio Synod, which later became The American Lutheran Church. The first meeting was held on February 19, 1911; the last record in this book is dated November 13, 1930. A history of and the relationship to Grace Lutheran Sanatorium and Lutheran General Hospital is related in the book "A CENTURY OF GRACE: a brief history of Grace English Evangelical Lutheran Church, San Antonio, Texas, 1903-2003" in Appendix C, pages 75-79. Grace Lutheran Church, San Antonio, TX, held this record of minutes book until it was given to the ELCA Region 4-South Archives for preservation. |
