This is a disbanded ELCA congregation in the NTNL Synod. The Parish Record book may be found on Shelf 3 of the DCR Cabinet B. Record keeping began on Feb. 7, 1971. The church closed on Feb. 24, 2019. The records include baptisms, confirmations, marriages, and deaths of the congregation from 1971 to 2019, as well as communion records, pastors who have served the congregation, and some officers of the congregation. Folder 1: NTNL Synod file for Faith Lutheran Church, Meridian, Texas. Folder contains parish reports; some calls to pastors; correspondence; minutes of the last meeting of the council discussing the distribution of funds; and the lettere from the ELCA secretary declaring the closure date of Feb. 24, 2019. Folder 2: Two copies of the original constitution of the congregation, dated August 1, 1971; a copy of the constittution and by-laws of the Faith Lutheran Church Women's organization; an updated approved constitution dated April 28, 2000. Folder 3: Two 10th anniversary booklets; one 25th anniversary bulletin; one 40th anniversary bulletin; one welcome flyer; color photo of pastors and Bishop Mark Herbner in attendance at the 25th anniversary celebration, as well as a group picture of the congregation; a sheet of photos depicting life in the congregation. Folder 4: Warranty Deed from the original purchase of the land for the church and the warrenty deed transferring the building and real property of Faith Lutheran Church, Meridian, Texas, to the NTNL Synod. Folder 5: Settlement statement and other pertinent documents detailing the sale of the property dated October 22, 2019. |
