The following are four congregations in the Birch (aka Birch Creek near Yegua Creek)/Lyons area who have several names and have cooperated with each other and/or merged over the years and are no longer Lutheran Churches. These congregations exist today (2017) in the Evangelical United Church of Christ at Lyons, Texas. Before that they were associated with the United Church of Christ and made up the Lone Star Parish. Immanuel Lutheran Church at Lyons. (1882 or 83, Not LCMS but there was a Missouri Lutheran church by the same name in Lyons.) Salem Church of Birch (1882 Also called German Lutheran Church at Birch and Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church of Birch) St. Stephens German Church at Mound Prairie near Snook (1888) Friedens Church in Gay Hill community (about 1888) |
