Olivia was started in 1893 and the building was distroyed by an hurricane in 1961. The congregation voted to disband and join St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Point Comfort Pastor Haterius purchased land called Wolf Point Ranch and located his colony about 10 miles across the Lavaca Bay from Indianola.
