Three sister congregations: Witting, Baursville, and Breslau. The original church and parish records of Witting have become a part of Zion Lutheran in Moulton. St. Paul of Breslau records are at Zion. Immanuel Congregation at Baursville, or Baurs, disbanded in 1927 and members went to Moulton Lutheran Church. Pastor Christian Geiger was the first Lutheran missionary of the Texas Synod to gather fellow Lutherans in the Moulton area together for worship in 1874. It was in 1902 that Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton, Texas was organized. Its pastors served many area communities and preaching points in the area. . From 2002 to present (2017) Zion is part of the Tri-County Cooperative Ministries (TCCM) which includes Weimer, Sublime, Witting,, and Pairie Valley. |
