1 folder -A.L.C. Mexican Missions: Miscellaneous Articles, 1944-1971 Included in this folder is the Commission on Mexican Missions report in the Boards of Missions report [to the American Lutheran Church] in 1944. Shown in the report are the names of those pastors on the commission and the members of the commission including lay people and pastors. The reports gives the field personnel and the acitvities of the commission. An article titled "Our Missions in Old Mexico" by F.C. Streufert from the magazine THE LUTHERAN WITNESS in its October 10, 1944 edition. Two LUTHERAN YOUTH magazines, one dated Nov. 24, 1946 and the other dated Dec. 15, 1946. Related articles are titled "Music from Chiapas" and "Pueblo Bowls and Baskets." The Boards of Missions "Report from the Field" from the Commission on Mexican Missions to the American Lutheran Church in 1946. An article from the PATHFINDER magazine dated January 29, 1947, from The World and Us column by Felix Morley titled "The Not So Good Neighbor" which gives a view of Latin America at the time. Two articles from an unknown magazine about Mexican immigration into South Texas--one article titled "Rio Grande" and the other titled "River of Death" by Don Hinga. A page from THE SOUTHERN LUTHERAN, July 1971, titled "Our Savior Advent--Group Has Much Going for the Lord" about the Vacation Bible School program at that congregation. |
