Lutherans in Olney met in homes as early as 1925. Pastor Muehlbrad from Wichata Falls conducted services there until 1933. The congregation in Olney was part of a parish: Trinity Lutheran in Wichita Falls, Mabelle (Maybelle) which met in the Mabelle school house, and Olney until 1947 when they had their own pastor. Congregation Records 1962-1971 were microfilmed and are at the ELCA archives in Chicago. Other records may be in Wichita Falls, Texas. The letter mentions Seymour and a community called Lively.is mentioned in the Mabelle letter. |
