In 1900 the congregation was given the name Evangelical Lutheran Zions congregation in and around Waldeck, Fayette County, Texas. Waldeck was better known as Long Prairie in the 1800s and included the Nechanitz community and possible the name was later changed to Waldeck in honor of Count Boos Waldeck. Prior to 1900, many people from Waldeck worship in Round Top and Warrenton. The were also served by Methodist ministers Pastor Wenzel gave 1st Lutheran Serman in Waldeck in 1899 Items are added to these files as the archives receives them. |
