Although the first congregation at Emanuel's Lutheran Church was not organized until January of 1870, local Lutheran work dates to 1851 when Seguin was part of a missionary circuit served by Pastor Theobald G. Kleis. Pastor Wohlschlegel, a full-time missionary, preached his first sermon in September of 1869. |
