Seven black & white snapshots of the group of Luther Leaguers attending the convention from Texas. Norma Menn is the only one identified and recognized by her outfit and cowboy hat in most of the photos. Two postcards that show the campus of Iowa State College in Ames, Iowa, where the convention took place. Items from the convention: "Gala Social Events to Feature Convention Days"; "State Fair admission ticket"; program for the Convention Banquet, August 1, 1946; small 4"x6" program booklet for the convention--autographs on the first page of the autograph section. Two bulletins--Memorial Service honoring those who gave their lives in World War II, July 31, 1946; and Communion Service, August 4, 1946; One black and white of all the attendees at the convention. The Texas District sign is prominent in the left side of the photo. Convention Program; song "Aim for Ames, Ye Leaguers"; 5 pre-convention letters, one of which explains the transportation by train and that cost. Five newsletters titled "The Timekeeper" from the convention, No. 1-6 but No. 4 missing. Two objects: Norma E. Menn's name plate for the convention; an anchor pin with a multi-colored leaf on fron with the name Regina across the leaf. It is presumed that this pin was a gift to Norma from another convention attendee. |
