On the reverse of the plate: "On June 26, 1916, Peace Evangelilcal Lutheran Church [Woodsboro, Texas] was officially organized. On May 24, 1936 (?) ground breaking ceremonies were held for the first and present building which was dedicated three months later. In 1946, the church separated from the Sinton congregation and assumed full support of their Pastor. In the 60 years, Peace Lutheran has had 15 Pastors and has grown from 30 charter members to 90 families, 243 baptized and 185 confirmed members." |
