Description |
This German hymnal is from Meta L. Roehm, the granddaughter of the Rev. J.C. Roehm. Translated from the German: "Four-Voice Choral Melodies Hymnal for the Evangelical Church in Wurttemberg for use Church, School, or House." Inscription translated from the German: "A remembrance from Grandfather of Galveston, July 1902" Sent to Rev. H.C. Ziehe upon the death of Meta Roehm in 1979-1980 since Rev. Ziehe had been doing research concerning the history of St. Chrishona pastors in Texas, of which Rev. Roehm was one. |

Included is a handwritten note to Pastor Ziehe from Margerete Schuette informing him of the death of Meta Roehm, that this small hymnal was among her books and that inside were directions to send the book to Pastor Ziehe. Also included is the newspaper obituary announcing Ms. Roehm's death. |
