Printed on the back of the plate: First Lutheran Church Corpus Christi, Texas Pastor G.A. Poehlmann To start a congregation in Corpus Christi, Pastor A. G. Wiederaenders of Robstown began services here in 1925. On September 11, 1927, Pastor C. L. Bohls was installed as missionary here. The congregation was organized on February 2, 1928. It dedicated its first church on November 4, 1928. The Educational Building was dedicated September 14, 1951. With the in-gathering of "Love Gifts" in 1962, the congregation proceeded, in 1963, to determine needs and capabilities for a new church. Ground was broken June 7, 1964. The Church was dedicated to the glory of God on February 14, 1965. |
